◇ Flynn Kietly | FC: Josh Hutcherson | 18| Year 13 | Dance | Open ◇
All Flynn ever wanted was to be like the other boys at school. He wanted to play video games and sports and get dirty like they did. Instead he was stuck at a dance studio for the majority of his free time. His Mother had been a famous dancer in her day, but when she discovered she was pregnant with Flynn she had to put all her dreams on hold for the boy. She won’t ever let him forget it either even if was never anything he could control. It’s his motivating force in fact for being the best male dancer that the world has ever seen. It’s also the only reason he continues to work at a career that he really doesn’t care for or want. He feels like he owes it to his Mum to be the best and to make her proud of him. Then maybe she will let go of the resentment she so obviously feels towards him. Resentment that he has never deserved but that she feels never the less.
In truth Flynn wishes that he could be a chef. He has always dreamed of owning his own restaurant. Cooking is his greatest joy in life even though he never really has the time for it. He knows he can never do it through because it would break his Mums heart. He will never forget the look of pure joy that she displayed when he got the letter announcing his acceptance into Ashford Academy. This was his big break. Going to this school would mean getting into one of the best arts Universities and eventually making it big. He knows that he should be happy that his dancing career is starting to take off but a part of him never will be satisfied because he isn’t doing what he truly wants to do. It hurts a little to be following someone else dream instead of his own but he feels obligated to do just that. He wasn’t happy to leave his home in Ireland but it was a sacrifice he had to make.
Flynn is easily the best male dancer currently in the program and it makes him highly sought after with the fellow dancers. A particular ballerina has her eye on him in fact and he has definitely noticed. There is no doubt that the dancer is beautiful but he can’t see himself being with her for the simple fact that she seems so intense. Flynn had a dancer as a girlfriend before and found her to be much to high maintenance. But he finds himself drawn to Alexandria Hart and who could blame him? Perhaps she’s just the person he needs to teach him that sometimes you just have to go for what you want and forget everyone else?
